Membership in the Brazos Valley Symphony is by audition.

Auditions for Second Clarinet and Second, Third, and Fourth Horn will be held on Saturday, June 21, 2025.

Audition Date: June 21, 2025

Time: Exact schedule will be sent on June 19, 2025

Location: Blinn College, Brenham Campus

Deadline for Application: June 19, 2025 by 5 P.M.

Season Information

Payment:
Second Clarinet: $85 per service with approximately 29 number of services/year
Second Horn: $85 per service with approximately 21 number of services/year
Third Horn: $85 per service with approximately 21 number of services/year
Fourth Horn: $85 per service with approximately 21 number of services/year

Start Date: September 21, 2025

Required Repertoire:

1. Orchestral Excerpts as per the list below
2. Movement of a concerto or a sonata (no accompanist)
3. Possible sight-reading

2. Proof of US citizenship or eligibility to work is required for winning candidate

1. Audition will have two or more rounds at the discretion of the Audition Committee. The first round will be played behind a screen. A screen will not be used for the last round of auditions.
2. The BSVO will have two warm-up rooms with a music stand.
3. Candidates are asked not to bring electronic devices into the audition room
4. After the audition, candidates will be invited to a post-audition wait room. Candidates will be informed as soon as possible if they were selected to proceed to the next round.

6. Candidates will have one liaison with whom they may communicate. Candidates are not allowed to communicate with Audition Committee Members. All questions must be directed to the candidate’s liaison.

The Audition Committee reserves the right to dismiss anyone during any round should they not meet the desired artistic level of performance or ethical behavior.
