Brazos Valley Symphony Field Trip | BVSO Children's Concerts

Children’s Concerts

Over 2,000 fourth and fifth graders from schools throughout the Brazos Valley, attend this annual event.  This is a private event held in cooperation with educational entities to bring students on a school day field trip to the concert. Through this outreach event, the orchestra seeks to instill a love of symphonic music in our young people. This project provides curriculum materials for teachers and students and culminates with the live concert performance.  The music for this concert is programmed just for children and often features a visual element, such as dancers or audio-visual presentations.

The Annual Children’s Concert for 4th and 5th grade students will take place Monday, January 25, 2027 at 10:00 am at Rudder Auditorium, Texas A&M University.

This year’s performance will feature a condensed version of Breakin’ Classical, an exciting collaboration between the Brazos Valley Symphony Orchestra and FLY Dance Company. Classical music meets hip-hop as FLY’s high-energy choreography takes the stage alongside live orchestral performances of well-known classical works, bringing two very different art forms together in an engaging introduction to the symphony.

Please note: This performance is not open to the public. No tickets will be sold on the day of the performance. Only schools and individuals who have RSVP’d will have access to the concert.
