Learning & Community

A major component of the Brazos Valley Symphony Society’s mission is to promote the musical arts for cultural and educational purposes in the Brazos Valley. Each year, with the support of the Friends Association of the Symphony Orchestra (FASO), we are able to provide several events to the community in the form of educational outreach, including our annual Holiday Concert, Children’s Concerts, Brazos Valley Youth Concerto Competition, the Symphony Goes to School Program, the Symphony Ambassadors Program and the free, outdoor *July 4th Celebration Concert. We also have an entertaining and informative lecture series that takes place one hour prior to a Classical Series concert.

Through these outreaches, the BVSO is inspiring and cultivating the next generation in the Brazos Valley to appreciate fine music and support all the arts. Many opportunities are available throughout the year to assist us in this mission through volunteer work. Please help us continue bringing these educational components to the community by becoming a volunteer.

PLEASE NOTE: The BVSO will not be performing a 4th of July concert during 2022.

Symphony Goes to School Program

Each season, the Symphony Goes to School program provides area students with an up-close and personal presentation from symphony musicians.

Symphony Ambassadors Program

The Symphony Ambassadors Program is a youth service organization for high school sophomores, juniors, and seniors, open to both young men and women, dedicated to supporting the Brazos Valley Symphony Orchestra. The Ambassadors usher at concerts and participate in service activities throughout the year within the Brazos Valley community.

Children's Concerts

Through this outreach event, the orchestra seeks to instill a love of symphonic music in our young people.
