Marcelo Bussiki is the current music director/conductor of the Brazos Valley Symphony Orchestra and has been in the position since 1996. He was recently appointed Vice-Chancellor of Academic Affairs at Blinn College and named “Artist of the Year” by The Arts Council of the Brazos Valley in 2014.
Dr. Mary Koeninger
Mary Koeninger joined the Brazos Valley Symphony Orchestra as Executive Director in February 2010. Dr. Koeninger has a Bachelor’s degree in Music Education and a Master’s in Applied Music from the University of Texas at Austin. In addition, she has a Doctorate in Education from Texas Tech University. Dr. Koeninger brings 35 years of management experience in both the public and private sector to the BVSO. Her background includes teaching music on both the public school and college level, performing as a symphony member, and serving as a symphony board member. She brings a strong background in music, management, resource development, strategic planning, as well as small and large event planning and execution.
DIRECTOR OF COMMUNICATIONS & MARKETING
Nika Hancock started with the BVSO at the beginning of the 2007-2008 season and is now in her 13th season with the Symphony. Ms. Hancock has lived in the Bryan/College Station area since her family moved to the area in 1986. Nika is a Cum Laude graduate of Texas A&M University with a Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies. Ms. Hancock has an employment background in education, non-profit management, public relations, writing, and graphic design. She lives in Bryan with her husband, Jubal Hancock. The Hancocks had their first child, a baby girl, Melanya Rose, in March of 2011, she is now 8 and loves music, singing, dancing, and basketball.
ADMINISTRATIVE SERVICES MANAGER
Winona Nagy began as a temporary assistant for the BVSS in March 2015 and has continued to work as a part-time Office Assistant through the 2015-2016 season and is now the full time Administrative Services Manager. Ms. Nagy obtained an Associate of Paralegal Studies degree from the Center for Advanced Legal Study in June 2005 and attended Blinn College. Winona has a background that includes retail and service industry experience, office administration, merchandising, and employee supervision. Her talents and experience also include all forms of customer service, managing offices and stores independently, and computer and technology adaptability.

Deanna Harris has been with the BVSO since January 2012. She graduated from Texas A&M University in 1994 with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting and a Bachelor of Science in Finance. Mrs. Harris is a Certified Public Accountant and returned to College Station in 2005 with her husband Jeff and two boys, Will and Reid. Will graduated from high school in 2019 and Reid attends A&M Consolidated High School. The Harris’ are proud of both boys being very active in sports: playing football, basketball, cross-country and track!
Jane McCormick is the current librarian for the Brazos Valley Symphony Orchestra, and she has also been the principal cellist for the BVSO since 2005. Ms. McCormick has 30 years of public school and orchestra/string teaching experience and has served as the A&M Consolidated High School Orchestra Director since 2002. She has also worked with several professional ensembles including the Plano Chamber Orchestra and the Ft. Worth Symphony Orchestra. Jane holds a Master of Music from Kent State and a Bachelor of Music from Bowling Green State University.
